About Me

I am a Special Education Teacher with 25+  years of teaching experience.  I have my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree in Special Education. I am also Wilson Level I Certified.  I have experience working  with Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional/Behavior Disabilities and much more. Most of my years teaching were spent in Special Education. I have extensive experience working with children, families and in the public school system.

How can consultation services benefit me?

Consultation services offer expert guidance and support to develop effective strategies for academic success.  The entire Special Education Process and timelines can be overwhelming.  I can offer assistance throughout the entire Special Education process, or wherever you feel you need it the most.  You may only want help interpreting the testing the school has preformed, or you my have outside testing you need help interpreting, I can do it all.

How can advocacy help me?

The Special Education process can feel overwhelming for families full of unfamiliar terms, timelines, and decisions that impact your child’s learning. I can help you understand your child’s rights and the steps involved in developing an Individualized Education Program (IEP).  I will also guide you through the process that can include reading through evaluations, attending meetings, or giving you an idea of how the meetings will be run.  I can also help with school communications.  I will work to ensure that your child’s unique needs are accurately identified and appropriately supported. By helping you prepare for meetings, interpret school reports, and collaborate effectively with the school based team, I will help you feel confident and informed partners in your child's education.
